Cyber Black Cat Wednesday coming Nov 28th

CyberBlackCat-Ad-FLAT

As I was inflating the tires on my car, I bent over and a cold, brisk breeze slapped my exposed back and whistled down all my crevices. It was at that moment I knew… the season is upon us. The only thing more shocking than that sensation is the realization that this year has passed so damn quickly. It was certainly a hectic and trying year, but in the end, I think I’ve made some major personal strides and I’m ending the year wrapped in a thick quilt of optimism.

With the coming of the season comes another Cyber Black Cat Wednesday. Everything, and I mean everything, in my Shop will be 15%. The sale starts at Midnight (Eastern Time) on November 28th and ends on December 5th at 11:59 PM. Use this code in the checkout.

CyberBlackCat18

No limits so use this code as much as you want. **Note to Guild Members: With this sale, you get an additional %15 off your order on top of your Guild discount**

I’ll also be releasing a print of Conjoining of the Lost for this festive occasion and it will be released on November 28th at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. I decided to push back my release time a bit to be more accommodating to my awesome followers in Australia. Here are the details on the print release:

Holiday Shipping Times

Domestic Orders:

Please order by December 17th to make sure I can get your orders together and shipped out to you in time for Christmas. If you are ordering a print with custom framing, add a couple weeks to that.

International Orders:

It usually takes around a week and a half to 2 weeks to reach any where in the world, but that can’t be guaranteed. To be safe, try to order by the end of Cyber Black Cat week, December 5th.

Thanks everyone and to those in the US, have a great Thanksgiving!

The Witching Hour Print Release

WitchingHour-PrintRelease-Promo.jpg

Hello everyone!

I’ll be releasing 4 new prints tomorrow, Friday October 26th at 4:00 PM Eastern time.  As always, the prints will be available at Andy Kehoe Shop. (Guild Members, the prints are available now) For everyone that ordered a pre-order of Under the Glow of Anomaly, your prints will ship tomorrow or Monday.

Sorry for the rather late announcement on this. Turns out that 2 straight, solid months of painting, followed by a round trip to Australia, really frazzles the brain. My head has been pretty lagged out since I landed Stateside so I needed a few days to recoup. That being said, it was all totally worth it. Being able to attend the opening of my Outré Gallery show, The Witching Hour, was an all around wonderful experience. Special thanks and gratitude to Martin and the whole Outré Gallery crew, and thanks to the city of Melbourne as a whole for charming me to the core. Can’t wait to return again. There are still a couple pieces available so check out the Outré Gallery website for more info.  Or Just Click Here—–>   THE WITCHING HOUR SHOW

In respect to aforementioned frazzled, laggy brain, I’ll keep this post short. Here’s the specifics on the prints:

Upcoming Art Show, The Witching Hour & New Print Releases

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been hard at work on my upcoming art show, The Witching Hour, and all that work is finished and on its way to Melbourne, Australia. *Fist Pump* Travel safe my children. The show opens on Friday, October 19th at Outré Gallery. Here’s the postcard with all the pertinent info:

Andy Kehoe_flyer_web

I’ll be leaving for Australia this Sunday and I’m beyond excited. It’s going to be a hell of a flight, but Zelda and Stardew Valley will keep me company along the way. As I’ve said before, Australia has been amazing to me over the last few years and I couldn’t miss an opportunity meet all my Aussie friends in person. I have much gratitude to dispense.

On the eve of this grand voyage, I’m going to release Stormbreaker as a limited edition print this Friday, October 12th at 4:00 PM Eastern in my Shop. I need a new smaller print in the Shop and this fits the bill nicely.

The pre-release will run for a week up to the opening and print will be offered at discount during this time. Then the wide release will be a week later on October 26th, along with a couple other prints from this show.

Both prints are available now for Guild Members and they can be found in the Guild Members Section.  **You can use your Guild discount on top of the Pre-Release discounted rate.**

Out of the Fog

Hi Everyone!

Out of the Fog

Last weekend, I dropped off my original painting, Out of the Fog, at Spoke Art NYC for the opening of the group exhibition, Suggestivism: Resonance. I really wanted to attend the opening to see some old friends again, to meet some new ones, sign some copies of the new, beautiful Suggestivism book that was just released, and to eat a slice of NYC pizza which I miss so, so dearly. I accomplished all of those things and had an awesome time. The show itself is amazing and I highly recommend you to check it out if you’re in the NYC area. You can find more info here: Suggestivism: Resonance

As much as I wanted to attend the opening for all the reasons listed above, the main reason I had to attend was because my painting was insanely late and wasn’t dry enough to ship. Driving it from Pittsburgh to NYC to hand deliver it to the gallery was the only viable option to get it there in time for the show. I’ve been working on this painting for a few months so why did a 16″x20″ oil painting take me so long to complete? I wrote a rather long-winded and brutally honest exposition into my creative and mental challenges over the past 8 months, but I’m going to spare you from that… also, after rereading what I had written the next day, I closed it without saving it. I think the importance was just writing it and knowing it for myself.

In brief, I’ve been mired in an existential quagmire and I’ve been trying to climb out of it for the better part of a year. This painting was a symbolic first step for me to climb out of the miasma of crushing self-doubt that had enveloped me and to get back on solid, creative ground again. It was an important piece for me to finish, and even though it took to the very last conceivable moment, I finished it and jumped that first mental hurdle. Relief. I wanted the piece to speak to my experience, so I came up with this painting and this title, Out of the Fog. I felt like I was in a deep, dense haze, but I wasn’t standing idle in it. I was journeying deep into it in, hoping to find something grand and meaningful within. Even though this piece is pretty small, it feels enormous to me in many ways.

I’ll be releasing limited edition prints of this piece on Friday July 20th in my Shop at 4:00 PM Eastern time. Here are the details on the print.

Wintery Hell Print Release 01.19.18

Hello everyone and late yet robust Happy New Year wishes to you all!

Hope all of you in the American North East are enduring this frozen hellscape as well as you can. I walked to the coffee shop today and felt like I was in The Road. But instead of contending with starvation, roving packs of cannibals, and the rapid deterioration of all humanity, I just had a freshly baked chocolate chip muffin and a piping hot americano. It was delightful. Suck it McCarthy!

Also, around 60 barges broke free on the Ohio River and are currently lodged against the Emsworth Locks and Dams right down the street from me. Many of them are loaded with cargo and a good number of them have tipped and submerged. And there’s nothing they can do because it’s insanely cold and everything is frozen and impossible.

Loose Barges

If I had one wish, it would be to meet Cormac McCarthy, Werner Herzog, and Terrence Malick at that snowy riverbank at dawn, and we could just gaze at this profound and enormous display of human folly in complete silence. Manmade industrial leviathans churning and fighting against the unrelenting forces of nature in a cacophonous struggle to avoid the inevitable, quiet end. All our grand aspirations succumbing to the oldest of fates and sinking into the cold darkness to lie amongst the countless number of discarded I.C. Light cans on the bed of the Ohio River. Then we all just nod to each other and walk back to our own separate lives…. Then Herzog circles around and meets at the coffee shop for fresh muffins, and he reads the first book of Harry Potter to me aloud in his Herzog voice.

PRINT NEWS!

I’ll be releasing my first print of 2018 this Friday, January 19th, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time in the Andy Kehoe Art Shop.

CYBER BLACK CAT MONDAY – 11.27.17

CyberBlackCatMONDAY-Ad-FLAT

The holidays are bearing down on us like 9 blackout drunk Santas driving a semi truck down an icy hill at 210 mph hauling a triple trailer filled to the brim with reindeer steaks and eggnog and they all forgot their prescription eye glasses at the Outback Steakhouse where they each consumed 6 blooming onions a piece. It’s an unstoppable force of horror, merriment, over indulgence, and run-on sentences. So to get into the spirit of the inevitability of it all, I present: CYBER BLACK CAT MONDAY

Starting at midnight Eastern on Monday November 27th, everything and anything in Andy Kehoe Art Shop will be 20% for a week with the code:
CYBERBLACKCAT17
That includes all of the original work posted in my shop. Speaking of, I just added all of the available work from my recent Thinkspace Gallery show, PRISMATIC to my shop. Is that on sale? It most certainly is. How about all of my remaining Jonathan Levine Gallery pieces? You bet it is. Snazzy iridescent Metal prints? Hell yes. Custom framing? TOTALLY. Cure All Phoenix Tear Tonic? Unfortunately, that’s a no. I had a guy, but he was recently mauled to death by a rabid manticore. If anyone has a connection on that, let me know.

All print orders in the US made before December 18th should definitely arrive before Christmas, and international orders should be made before December 8th to be safe. Though I can’t fully guarantee any shipping times on international orders because once it leaves the States, it’s all in Santa’s velvety, white-gloved hands.
Many of my originals will be shipped by their respective galleries, so try to order those a couple weeks in advance.

Thanks for reading and a preemptive & hearty Happy Holidays to you all.
Andy

PRISMATIC Opening & Sour Harvest Interview // Print Release Friday 10.13.2017

PRISMATIC OPENING

Hi Everyone!

I got back to Pittsburgh from LA a week ago and had a wonderful time at the PRISMATIC opening at Thinkspace on September 30th. Whew. This show really took it out of me, but I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. I’d talk about it more, but as it turns out, I’ve already spent hours writing about it in my recent interview with Sour Harvest. You can read the interview here:

SOUR HARVEST INTERVIEW

I updated my site and added images of all the new works. You can find the gallery here:
